This show came to be because our November 2023 show with Shawnee Kilgore was just magical in both the music and our guests. And the artists talk to each other. Jana Pochop was at that show and sang us one of her songs. Jana and Grace collaborate. Grace reached out to us for her swing through Texas in Spring 2025. We took a listen and WOW. We caught Jana's show opening for Ordinary Elephant in June 2024. And WOW. You are going to love both of them.

Who is Will Wallace? Singer/songwriter, music producer, instrumentalist, game developer, and 4-day Jeopardy Champion who qualified for the Tournament of Champions 2025. I know, I know, this all sounds cool, but what does he sound like? Well, go take a listen on his website (link is above in the calendar). You'll find baritone country-ish tunes with fine pickin' and great lyrics. The songs touch your ear with familiarity, but new at the same time. Excellent driving music!

We started listening to the Rifters because they performed at Michael Hearne's Big Barn Dance in Bryan, Texas in May of 2024. Prior to the event, I pulled 'em up on YouTube and said "Oh Karen, you gotta come listen to this . . . " If you have ever marveled at the Sangre de Cristo mountain range in Colorado and New Mexico, you will love the Rifters. It is where they're from and they carry that majesty in their music. Mark's parents had a cabin in Cuchara Colorado for many years. Cuchara is nestled between the eastern slope of the Sangre de Cristo and West Spanish Peak. That feeling you get when you turn off U.S. Hwy 160 on Colorado 12 (Highway of Legends) is indescribable. The Rifters music is just like that.

These two guys are legends, separately and together. Karen's favorite song is "The Girl Just Loves to Dance", written by Michael and Shake. She's threatening to ask them to play it 2 or 3 times. Their music defines Americana, country/folk, toe-tappin', harmonies, and guitar pickin'. Michael's Big Barn Dance now happens twice per year (Bryan, TX and Taos, NM). You'll find both of them there - making music separately and together. This pairing is always fabulous and we hope you can make it.
